* Wetsuit Stripping: assist swimmers with removing wetsuit
* Run Course Marshal: cheer on and direct runners
* Runner Escorts on MTB: follow the top F & M runners of the Sprint & Standard Triathlons
* Bike Course Marshal: direct cyclists on the course, ensure safety and cheer
* Post-race Food Table: organize food on the tables & connect with the finishers

The Wasa Triathlon has been a popular and successful event because of its dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Volunteers receive a souvenir shirt, a Subway 6″ sandwich, cold beverages, early morning hot coffee & and have a chance to win a prize!

Description and details of roles

TriKid Races: Saturday, June 9 from 8:30-12:30pm at Wasa.

Race Bag Stuffing: Thursday June 7 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Cafeteria, College of the Rockies, Cranbrook.

Adult Race Package Handout: Saturday June 9 from 2:15-5:00pm at the Wasa Community Hall.

On Sunday, June 10
Swim Course:
 from 7:15am-10:00am at Horseshoe Bay Beach. Role: to be in a boat with paddle & jacket guiding the swimmers along the course (own gear helpful).

Racer Check-in: from 6:00-8:00am at the Transition Area, Wasa.  Role: welcome athletes, body marking, and give out timing chip.

Transition Zone: from 7:30am-12:30pm in the Transition Area Wasa.  Role: to direct and cheer on racers!

Wetsuit Strippers: from 8:00-10:00am just outside of the Transition Area.  Role: to assist swimmers with the removal of their wetsuit once they complete the swim portion

Run Course: from 8:00am-12:30pm at various locations on the run course.  Role: to direct and cheer on racers on the run course.

Runner Escorts on MTB: from 8:30-11am in transition and run course.  Role: to follow on mtn bike the top 3 F & M runners of the Sprint & Olympic Triathlon

Bike Course: from 7:30am-11:30am at various locations on the bike course.  Role: to direct cyclists on the bike course, ensure safety and to cheer them on.

Post-race Food: from 8:30am-1:00pm at the Food Tent Transition Area.  Role: to cut up fresh fruit and organize food on the tables for racers to eat after their race. Very social !


Volunteer at the 6 In The Stix MTB Festival

Want to be part of the team of helpers who’ll make this the best possible event? The event will need help with setting up on Saturday afternoon/evening, and on race day with rider sign-in, timing, final prepping, course marshalling, foods, event tear-down etc….Please contact Charlie at charlie@rmevents.com to get more info and make plans.  Your help is very much appreciated.
